Finka Aekolado is the embodiment of a vision to create a flourishing permaculture farm and community. Aekolado sits atop a 120 meter escarpment looking across the vast blue-grey pacific ocean. The last remnant of the Coastal Choco rainforest in Ecuador fall form the mountains to the seashore here, and our farm researches ecological ways to increase the health of the ecosystem while providing for a thriving human community.
Members from around the world work side by side with local farm members to grow cacao, cardamom, banana, yuca, tagua, vanilla, red palm, breadfruit, mame, zapote, mando, durien, breadnut, red palm and hundreds other tropical fruits grow in the beautiful forest garden and agro-forestry system that is stewarded by caring hands.
